Computers Fear Me
I have been working with computers since I was 10 years old, I am 47 now. My father bought me an Apple II+ with the 16KB Language Card back in 1981 when I was 11 years old. I have built many computers over the years, developed software for purposes ranging from personal use to enterprise applications. I know dozens of computer languages. In fact, I would say I have probably forgotten more computer languages then you know. I have worked on nearly every operating system you can think of. So I know computers. Whenever a computer is not doing what is wanted by their user, e.g. My Wife, they frequently ask me for help. Of course, when I show up, the computer does exactly what it’s supposed to do. These people almost always say some variation of: “I did the same thing and it didn’t work” and my answer is always “Well, Computers fear me.” It’s better then explaining to them why they are clueless.
